How It Started

Statements Ownly was born from a simple but radical belief: that a woman’s jewelry should be as unapologetic as she is. Not accessories. Not afterthoughts. Wearable art, sculptural, limited, and designed to turn heads before she says a single word.

From the very first collection, every piece has been built around a story. Genesis celebrated showing up for yourself. Forma explored structure and strength. Fleur honored femininity in full bloom. Futuro reached toward legacy and what we leave behind.

The Discovery

While designing Futuro, a collection rooted in legacy and craft, something unexpected happened. In conversation with her father, Lucille discovered that her great-grandfather was a Ghanaian goldsmith. A man who shaped metal into meaning. Who crafted jewelry by hand, built to outlast generations.

Among his work was a piece made for his daughter, Lucille’s grandmother’s wedding day, a woman who was half-Scottish, bridging two worlds in one love story. When Lucille saw the photograph, she stopped. The piece bore an uncanny resemblance to a design she had just created, independently, without ever knowing he existed as a craftsman.

Some things are not learned. They are inherited.

It confirmed what Statements Ownly had always been about: the things that make us bold are rarely accidents. They are echoes of who came before us.
